Abstract:

An overview of fracturing with coil, demonstrate how the operator can properly measure, control, optimize their field development through coil fracturing and a tailored frac design. The coil frac empowers the operator to stop guessing & start measuring to benchmark their specific completion design to the unique behaviors of the target rock formation. Coil fracturing also has several operational advantages from; real time control of frac operations with dead leg pressure/temperature measurement and post frac analysis report with two separate bottom hole pressure temperature sensors capturing frac and isolation between stages to the ability to dilute sand concentration during screen out and circulate the wellbore clean after screen out, and anytime during the operation. As coil fracturing is evolving the operator now has the ability to refrac certain stages during a well’s life, close a stage after a frac, mitigate proppant flow back, allow frac to heal before production, mitigate frac hits by closing necessary stages and frac out of sequence to manage stress regime in the reservoir to maximize frac height.
