Abstract:

SPE Calgary’s Social and Networking committee would like to invite mountain bikers of all skill levels on a casual ride before the snow arrives!

Join us Saturday, Oct 16th at 1:00pm near Bragg Creek. This is not a race and we will encourage a friendly pace so that we have many breaks and a chance to take in the tremendous nature and views that the Bragg Creek area has to offer. Mark your calendars and sign-up today! Bringing a friend is encouraged. This event is free with the aim to get us outside, get us moving before our first snowfall if possible!

Social distancing practices are encouraged for this event.

Trail: 1.5 hour ride time planned - Diamond T Loop (Green/Easy difficulty, 3.9km, 40 mins) to Ridgeback 1 & 2 (+3.3km, 25 mins one way, 7km loop, 50 minutes): HERE.

Meet-up Location: Station Flats Parking HERE.

Time: 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM, depart at 1:15 to congregate and chat, 1.5 hour ride with the aim to be back at the vehicles at 2:45pm to pack-up.

NO Kananaskis Conservation Pass is required to park your vehicle here.

Message Chad Van Buskirk or Andres Bonelli on LinkedIn if your require help or further details leading up to the event, we will be responding until near event time where cell coverage is not always present.

WEATHER
We will ride unless unfortunate conditions dictate otherwise for typical mountain bikes and typical tires. Bragg Creek weather during this time of year ranges from -3°C to 13°C, with the likelihood of temperatures from 5°C to 10°C for our ride times. If Bragg Creek announces more than 8cm of snow Friday night, we will postpone this event.

WHAT TO BRING
your bike, helmet, sunglasses, small backpack (optional), proper footwear, phone/camera, water, snacks and check the weather to dress appropriately with the opportunity to layer-up or layer-down – weather conditions can change drastically in this area.
